Our most popular event series, F*ck the Small Talk, has traveled the world from Berlin, Melbourne, London, and Lisbon, to Mexico City, and is now coming to Wellington for the first time ever! ๐
๐ฆ WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?
FTST is a one-of-a-kind social experience where strangers come together for an afternoon of meaningful, fun, and deep conversation. Itโs also just a different & cool way of meeting new people by getting a bit out of your comfort zone and skipping the small talk!
Join us for an evening of games, talks, and connections with friends you havenโt met yet. Join if you get annoyed after being asked what you do, where you are from, and how long you have been in Wellington every single time you meet someone. If you feel that there are better questions in life then this is the place for you. ๐
๐ HOW DOES IT WORK?
We start with a short & sweet intro talk followed by a few light-hearted group games to warm up. Don't worry, nothing too awkward! After that, we split you up into small groups and start with the conversation rounds (with 3-4 people). We'll have awesome question cards that will guide the flow of the conversation. Youโll never have to speak in public if you donโt want to!

We like to keep our events cozy so we usually invite around 25 people. If you are invited you'll receive an invite with a special link via our ticketing platform Luma.
๐งง HOW MUCH IS IT?
The cost to attend is 22-25 NZ$ and includes the following:

๐ฅ A space to meet new people in the least boring way possible
๐ Supporting our mission to slowly eliminate small talk around the world

We host our events in awesome bars & parks across the city. We only reveal the location to ticket holders 24 hours before the event. This edition will take place in a cozy spot in central Wellington.

๐ Meet Marisa (your host!)
Marisa is a bubbly and quirky human with a low-key obsession of chocolate and sunflowers. She loves to try new things and get to know people for who they truly are. There is definitely no small talk when it comes to Marisa! Her goal in life is to be able to speak at least seven languages and hopefully work in all the continents of the world!

We usually get a high volume of sign-ups yet we like to keep it cozy & only invite around 20 people. We believe this is a good number to ensure an awesome experience! Please try again next time if do not receive an invite - no hard feelings ๐

Our story started in Berlin back in 2019 out of the frustration of going to unfulfilling (and incredibly boring) meetups in the city! Now, there are chapters in Vancouver, Lisbon, London, and Mexico City. More coming soon. ๐ ๐
